Jorge du Peixe is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and musician born in Recife, Pernambuco. He is best known as one of the founding figures of the influential 1990s manguebeat movement and as a core member of the band Nação Zumbi. Following the tragic death of frontman Chico Science in 1997, Du Peixe stepped up to assume the role of lead vocalist and sampler player, guiding the group through decades of critical acclaim and international touring.

Throughout his career, Du Peixe has expanded his artistic footprint by participating in various side projects and collaborative ventures. He has been a driving force behind musical groups such as Los Sebosos Postizos, known for their reinterpretations of classics by Jorge Ben Jor, and Afrobombas, which features Lula Lira, the daughter of Chico Science. His creative versatility also extends to cinema, where he has composed original soundtracks for acclaimed Brazilian films like Amarelo Manga and Febre do Rato.
