Biography
Jorge Paiva is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who began his career in the mid-1960s. His musical trajectory is marked by the influence of bossa nova, with compositions that seek the refinement and sophistication of the genre. In 1968, he recorded his first LP, "Naquele avanço – Jorge Paiva com Os Espaciais", accompanied by the ensemble Os Espaciais, interpreting songs of his own authorship and partnerships.
Although his career as a singer did not achieve great prominence, Jorge Paiva dedicated himself intensely to songwriting. Over the years, he had several songs recorded by other artists, such as Odair José, Nunes Ernades, Luis Carlos Magno, and Carlos José, exploring themes that ranged across the universe of samba and Brazilian popular music.
More recently, George Paiva (using the spelling George) has performed in shows that revisit bossa nova classics, such as in the project "De Gilberto a Jobim", demonstrating the timelessness of his connection with the genre. His work continues to be recognized for its melodic and poetic quality, keeping him active in the Brazilian music scene.
