Biography

Jovem Dionisio is a Brazilian indie pop and bedroom pop band formed in 2019 in Curitiba, Paraná. The group consists of Bernardo Pasquali on vocals, Rafael Dunajski Mendes on guitar, Gustavo Karam on bass, Bernardo Hey on keyboards, and Gabriel Dunajski Mendes on drums. Originally starting as Huff in 2012, the members spent years performing covers before rebranding in 2019 to honor the owner of a local bar they frequented, blending youthful energy with the traditional name to create Jovem Dionisio.

The band achieved widespread recognition with the release of their 2020 single "Pontos de Exclamação", which gained massive traction online and was later remixed by electronic music producers such as Vintage Culture and Future Class. Their breakthrough continued with the massive success of their hit album Acorda, Pedrinho in 2022, cementing their place in the contemporary Brazilian alternative scene alongside peers like Banda do Mar and Silva.

Over the years, Jovem Dionisio has expanded its musical palette, releasing subsequent projects including the album Ontem Eu Tinha Certeza (Hoje Eu Tenho Mais) in 2024. Signed with Sony Music, they have earned notable achievements like being named an Apple Music artist of the month. Their unique blend of melodic introspection, electronic elements, and pop sensibilities continues to influence the modern landscape of Brazilian independent music.
