Biography

Julia Guedes is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The granddaughter of renowned musician Beto Guedes and daughter of guitarist Gabriel Guedes, she carries an expressive musical legacy, representing the fifth generation of her family to pursue an artistic career. Her work bridges MPB, pop, and jazz, drawing influences from the Clube da Esquina movement while maintaining a contemporary and original sound.

Her musical journey gained prominence when she won the "2023 BDMG Young Instrumentalists" award, which boosted her confidence as an instrumentalist and opened doors for the recognition of her work as a composer and singer. Julia has been recognized for her versatility, moving between the piano—her primary composition tool—and other artistic expressions such as visual arts.

In 2026, she released her highly anticipated debut album, "Álbum Vermelho," featuring 12 tracks, 11 of which she wrote. The record, which includes guest appearances by artists such as Wagner Tiso and Luiza Brina, honors her family roots, including a new interpretation of a song by her grandfather, Beto Guedes. "Álbum Vermelho" explores themes such as female experiences in society and the pursuit of one's own path, establishing Julia Guedes as a promising voice in new Brazilian popular music.
