Biography

Juliana Caymmi is a Brazilian singer and songwriter, born on November 13, 1975, in Rio de Janeiro. She is the daughter of Danilo Caymmi and lyricist Ana Terra, the granddaughter of the iconic Dorival Caymmi and Stella Maris, and the niece of Dori Caymmi and Nana Caymmi. Her musical journey began early, at the age of eight, with the recording of tracks on the children's LP "Histórias do Céu e da Terra", alongside other artists such as Zizi Possi.

After living in São Paulo, where she studied popular singing at the Universidade Livre de Música Tom Jobim and worked in jingle production, Juliana began her professional career by participating in a show by composer Dercio Marques. Since then, she has performed in solo shows across Brazil and in performances with the "Família Caymmi". Her career as a songwriter gained prominence in 2001 with the song "Seus Olhos", recorded by her aunt Nana Caymmi on the CD "Desejo".

In 2010, she released her debut album, "Para Dançar a Vida", which brings together her own compositions and those of other artists, including partnerships with her mother, Ana Terra, and tributes to family members such as her grandmother Stella Maris. The album featured musicians like Ricardo Matsuda and was launched with shows in Rio de Janeiro. Juliana Caymmi continues forging her path in Brazilian music, honoring her family legacy while stamping her own artistic identity.
