Biography

Junior Lima, born Durval de Lima Junior in Campinas, São Paulo, is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician, and music producer. He first achieved massive international fame alongside his sister Sandy as part of the legendary pop duo Sandy & Junior, which dominated the Brazilian music scene from 1990 until 2007. Selling over 22 million records, they became the top-selling pop music act in Brazilian history and broke numerous attendance records during their mega-tours.

Following the dissolution of the duo, Junior ventured into various musical styles and collaborative bands. In 2008, he joined the rock band Nove Mil Anjos as a drummer, working alongside artists like Champignon. He later transitioned into electronic music, performing with projects such as Dexterz alongside Amon Lima and Júlio Torres, as well as the electronic duo Manimal. In addition to his performance work, he has established himself as a respected music producer, collaborating on solo projects for his sister Sandy and producing work for pop artist Manu Gavassi.

Continuing to evolve as a solo artist, Junior released his debut solo album, Solo (Vol. 1), in 2023. Throughout his diverse career, he has collaborated with and been influenced by prominent figures in Brazilian music, including his father Xororó and fellow musicians across the pop, rock, and electronic genres. His lifelong dedication to the drums and diverse instrumentation has cemented his legacy as one of Brazil's most versatile contemporary musicians.
