Biography
Juventude Bronzeada is a carnival street band and also a music group originating from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, which stands out for celebrating the axé music of the 80s and 90s, with a strong identity from Minas Gerais and a repertoire that engages with Brazilian music in general. The group was founded in 2014, with the initial purpose of rescuing and celebrating Bahian culture and the hits that marked an era, interpreting songs by artists such as Banda Eva, Olodum, Daniela Mercury, and Banda Mel. The band consists of Thales Silva (guitar and vocals), Rodrigo Magalhães (bass and vocals), and Fernando "Feijão" Monteiro (drums).
Throughout its trajectory, Juventude Bronzeada has established itself as one of the most popular and anticipated carnival blocks in Belo Horizonte, drawing crowds and becoming a reference in the carnival scene of the capital of Minas Gerais. The block also stands out for addressing social and political agendas in its parades, promoting reflections on basic rights, democracy, and the appreciation of local culture. In addition to its work in the carnival, the group is also dedicated to original musical production, releasing EPs and albums that reinforce its identity and contribute to the music scene of Belo Horizonte.
Juventude Bronzeada has also become a platform for training new talents, with mass musicalization projects that have already selected hundreds of participants for its percussion section. This initiative has revealed new musicians and percussionists, many of whom have turned professional in the field, demonstrating the cultural and social impact of the block beyond the festivities. The band and the block remain active, celebrating Brazilian music and diversity in their events and parades.
