Biography

Karametade is a well-known Brazilian pagode musical group that achieved national prominence with their chart-topping hit "Morango do Nordeste". Formed in 1996, the band originally consisted of members such as Vavá, Marcelo CQ, Sameer, Marcelo Mury, Waguinho, Pepê, Dodô, and Marcinho, eventually signing with Sony Music for their professional debut. Throughout their career, they released multiple successful albums that earned gold and platinum certifications, establishing themselves firmly within the pagode genre alongside artists like Exaltasamba.

In 2000, lead vocalist Vavá left the group to pursue a solo career, paving the way for Sameer to take over lead vocals for their 2001 self-titled album. The group continued to perform and release music until they officially disbanded in 2005. After years apart, Karametade made a triumphant return in October 2019 by announcing their reunion on the television program The Noite, hosted by Danilo Gentili, and subsequently launched a 25th-anniversary tour in January 2020.
