Biography

Karina Libânio is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and currently residing in Caraíva, Bahia. Her musical journey began as an interpreter, and over the years, she honed her skills through studies in acoustic guitar, percussion, theater, yoga, and massotherapy. Her career gained prominence in 2006, when she was selected from over 700 applicants in the Conexão Telemig Celular project, becoming one of the 12 finalists and joining the project's album with her original track "No balanço do mar".

In 2014, Karina released her independent DVD "Inteira", a work of covers recorded at SESC Palladium. Her debut album, "Nua Face", was released in 2019, funded through crowdfunding. The record features nine original songs exploring themes such as dreams, surrender, living in the present moment, loss and healing, with compositions in partnership with Léo Brasil and Marcílio Rosa, among others. The work invites the listener to take a deep dive into themselves, seeking connection with their essence amid urban chaos.

The artist is known for her versatility, blending influences of reggae, samba, MPB, and jazz in her "world music", alongside inspirations from nature and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. In her shows, Karina Libânio frequently performs songs that celebrate the strength of the feminine and healing through song, as seen in the show "Mãe d'água". She has shared the stage with several renowned artists from the Minas Gerais scene, such as Aline Calixto, Maíra Baldaia, and Pedro Morais.
