Biography

Born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Kiko Continentino is a highly respected Brazilian pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. He began his musical journey at a young age, learning piano from his father, Mauro Continentino, who was also a pianist. Continentino's professional career took off in 1985, and he soon relocated to Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, where his talent quickly gained recognition.

Continentino's extensive discography includes over ten instrumental albums, showcasing his prolific original work. His career is marked by significant collaborations and tenures with prominent Brazilian artists. For a decade, he was a member of the legendary jazz-funk trio Azymuth, contributing to four albums and numerous international tours. He also spent 25 years as a musical collaborator and touring partner with the iconic Milton Nascimento, co-writing songs for Nascimento's album "Pietá."

Beyond his work with Azymuth and Nascimento, Continentino has shared stages and studios with a vast array of Brazilian and international music luminaries. His collaborations include artists such as Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, and jazz giants like Wayne Shorter and Billy Cobham. He was also invited to join the Quarteto Jobim Morelenbaum in the early 2000s, performing concerts worldwide. Continentino's influence extends to his role as an arranger and producer, further solidifying his status as a versatile and essential figure in Brazilian music.
