Biography

Kiloucura is a renowned Brazilian pagode band that achieved significant commercial success during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Originally formed in São Paulo by musicians originally from Rio de Janeiro, the group was initially fronted by singer and songwriter Délcio Luiz, alongside members such as Bigode, Gérson Dupand, Prateado, and Picolé. Their romantic style quickly resonated with audiences across Brazil, establishing them as a prominent fixture in the pagode and samba-pop movements alongside contemporaries like Grupo Raça.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1998, propelled them to national stardom with major radio hits like "Meu Casamento" and "Pela Vida Inteira," the latter of which was featured on the soundtrack of the Rede Globo telenovela Suave Veneno. Following the massive success of their debut, which sold a quarter of a million copies, they released their second album, Diamante, in 1999, featuring popular tracks such as "Conversa Fiada" and "De Repente Vem Você." Over the decades, the band underwent several line-up changes while continuing to release new material and live albums, maintaining an active presence in the Brazilian pagode scene.
