Kimani, artistic name of Cynthia Santos, is a renowned Brazilian artist who emerged from the slam scene, achieving national prominence as the Brazilian champion in 2019. Her name, of African-American origin, means "sweet girl", a contrast to the strength and power of her poetic and musical performances. Born and raised in the outskirts of São Paulo, specifically in Grajaú, in the city's southern zone, Kimani uses her art as a tool for expression, confrontation, and awareness regarding social, racial, and gender issues.
