Biography

Korzus is a pioneering Brazilian thrash metal band formed in São Paulo in 1983. Initially adopting temporary monikers before cementing their identity, the group quickly became a cornerstone of the national metal scene with tracks like "Guerreiros do Metal," featured on the influential 1985 compilation SP Metal 2. Led by founding vocalist Marcello Pompeu alongside bassist Dick Siebert, the band built a reputation for high-energy performances and relentless studio output, evolving from their early Portuguese-language releases to English-language thrash masterpieces.

Throughout the decades, Korzus has shared stages with global metal giants and released acclaimed albums such as Mass Illusion, KZS, and Ties of Blood, the latter of which featured guest appearances by renowned Brazilian musicians André Matos and Andreas Kisser. Their relentless touring schedule has taken them across Europe, the Americas, and major festivals including Monsters Of Rock and Rock in Rio.

Demonstrating remarkable longevity and resilience within the heavy music community, the band underwent strategic lineup renewals while continuing to release hard-hitting material like the albums Discipline of Hate and Legion. With decades of history documented in books and retrospectives, Korzus remains an enduring pillar of Latin American heavy metal, consistently redefining their sonic boundaries with releases like the single "No Light Within."
