Biography
Kreator is a German thrash metal band formed in 1982 in Essen. The band is considered one of the pioneers and most influential of the thrash metal genre in Europe, alongside compatriots like Sodom and Destruction, forming what is known as the "Big 4" of Teutonic thrash metal. Kreator's signature sound, which mixes aggressiveness, speed, and a dark tone, has influenced countless extreme metal bands around the world.
Since its formation, the band has undergone several lineup changes, with founding members Miland "Mille" Petrozza (vocals and guitar) and Jürgen "Ventor" Reil (drums) being the only ones present from the beginning, although Reil took a temporary hiatus between 1994 and 1996. Throughout their career, Kreator has released sixteen studio albums, as well as EPs, live albums, and compilations, cementing their position in the metal scene.
Kreator has toured Brazil several times, including performances in São Paulo, Manaus, and Rio Negrinho in 2013, and in 2018, as part of the Liberation Fest tour, visiting cities such as Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, and Rio de Janeiro. The band also made a notable appearance on the Brazilian show "Programa Livre" in 1992, demonstrating the penetration of extreme metal in the media at the time.
