Biography

The Laboratório de Acústica Musical e Informática (LAMI) was established in 2013 within the Department of Music at the University of São Paulo's School of Communication and Arts (ECA-USP). Its primary mission is to support academic research in Sonology that requires technological resources, while also serving as a space for musical creation and phonographic production. LAMI plays a crucial role in the academic landscape, offering support for research and events within the Nucleo de Sonologia-NuSom and providing a foundation for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in music technology at ECA-USP.

The laboratory is equipped with a recording studio and engages in various activities, including supporting research in Sonology and producing phonographic works. LAMI also releases music through its own label, "Selo LAMI," focusing on repertoire outside commercial circuits, with an emphasis on Brazilian and contemporary music. This initiative highlights the lab's commitment to fostering diverse musical expressions and making them accessible.

LAMI's work extends to supporting faculty and student projects, encompassing research, repertoire documentation, composition, and arrangement.
