Biography

Lagum is a prominent Brazilian pop rock and alternative rock band formed in 2014 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Initially brought together after vocalist Pedro Calais posted an original composition on Facebook, the group quickly built a local following before releasing their independent debut album, Seja o Que Eu Quiser, in 2016. Their breakout moment arrived in 2018 with the acoustic version of the single "Deixa," featuring Ana Gabriela, which achieved massive national popularity and led to a record deal with Sony Music.

Throughout their career, the band has navigated both immense success and profound tragedy. In September 2020, their beloved drummer Tio Wilson tragically passed away following a performance. Despite this devastating loss, the group persevered, releasing acclaimed projects such as Memórias (De Onde Eu Nunca Fui) in 2021 and Depois do Fim in 2023, both of which earned Latin Grammy nominations. Collaborating with prominent artists like Emicida, Jão, and Anavitória, Lagum continues to influence the contemporary Brazilian alternative scene with their introspective lyrics and engaging melodies.
