Biography

Lamparina e a Primavera is a Brazilian band formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 2016. The group emerged from the fusion of two university bands: Delamarque e A Lamparina, featuring brothers Arthur Delamarque and Calvin Delamarque, and Hugo e A Primavera, led by Hugo Zschaber. Initially, the band also included Mariana Cavanellas, Chico Di Flora, Bino Carvalho, and Thiago Oliveira, creating a diverse soundscape that blends various Brazilian rhythms with rock, pop, and psychedelic influences. Their music draws inspiration from genres such as MPB, maracatu, ciranda, and mangue beat, creating a unique and vibrant sonic identity.

The band released their first EP, "Claraboia," in 2017, featuring songs like "Clareava" and "Bordaduras." In 2018, they funded their debut album, "Manda Dizer," through a crowdfunding campaign, which was launched with a show at the Minas Tênis Clube Cultural Center in Belo Horizonte. The album showcased their eclectic style, with tracks like "Metarreflexo" and "Temporal." In 2019, the lineup evolved with the addition of singer Marina Miglio and guitarist Stênio, and the release of singles such as "Não me entrego pros caretas" and "Canseira."

In 2020, Lamparina e a Primavera participated in the "Estúdio Showlivre" project, releasing a live recording of their performance. The single "Não me entrego pros caretas" gained significant traction in 2021, surpassing one million streams on Spotify and leading the band to simplify their name to Lamparina. This success opened doors to performances at major festivals like Lollapalooza Brazil and CoMA. Their hit "Pochete" was featured in the TV Globo novela "Cara e Coragem." In 2023, they released the single "Fez a Onda," hinting at a new artistic phase exploring pop aesthetics and the musical styles of the 2000s, while still maintaining their signature Brazilian essence.
