Biography

Roberto de Souza Rocha, better known by his stage name Latino, is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he spent part of his youth abroad working various jobs before returning to Brazil, where he immersed himself in the local dance and funk scenes. He achieved his breakthrough in the early 1990s with dance and freestyle tracks, releasing his debut studio album, Marcas de Amor, in 1994, which featured major hits like "Me Leva". Over the decades, Latino continually reinvented his musical style, incorporating elements of Latin pop, reggaeton, electronic dance music, and sertanejo across numerous successful albums and tours. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various notable Brazilian artists, including Perlla and Kelly Key, cementing his presence in mainstream Brazilian pop culture. His enduring career was celebrated with retrospective projects such as the Latino Fantasy - 25 Anos de Carreira DVD, marking over two decades of commercial success in the Brazilian music industry.
