Biography

Lauana Prado is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, music producer, and arranger born in Goiânia and raised in Araguaína, Tocantins. Before achieving national stardom, she performed under the name Mayara Prado, competing in television talent shows such as The Voice Brasil—where she reached the semifinals as part of Carlinhos Brown's team—and Programa Raul Gil. These early television appearances led to a record deal with Sony Music Brasil, through which she released her self-titled EP and the album 24 Horas por Segundo. Seeking a fresh start, she adopted the stage name Lauana Prado on the suggestion of singer Fernando Zor and broke through in 2018 with the hit single "Cobaia," featuring the duo Maiara & Maraisa.

Throughout her career, Prado has established herself as a leading figure in the "feminejo" movement, known for a distinctive musical approach that blends sertanejo with elements of rock, reggae, and pop. Her discography features acclaimed projects such as Livre, the Latin Grammy-nominated Natural, Ao Vivo em Brasília, and her nostalgic "Raiz" series, which included a viral cover of Tetê Espíndola's "Escrito nas Estrelas." She has also collaborated across genres with numerous esteemed artists, including Nando Reis, Simone Mendes, Zé Neto & Cristiano, and Gabriel Diniz.

Beyond her musical achievements, Lauana Prado is recognized for her positive lyrical themes centered around resolved love and optimism, contrasting with the traditional heartbreak tropes of mainstream sertanejo.
