Laudarcy Ricardo de Oliveira, widely known by his stage name Alexandre, is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter, most recognized as one half of the successful sertanejo duo Althair & Alexandre. Born in Carmo do Rio Claro, Minas Gerais, he began his musical journey in the early 1980s, initially forming a partnership with the singer Ataíde. This collaboration led to several hits and established the duo as a significant force in Brazilian country music.

Alexandre's career took a significant turn when Ataíde departed, and he reunited with his brother, Claudemir Marçal (Althair), to form the duo Althair & Alexandre. This new iteration of the duo continued their success, releasing numerous albums and popularizing songs such as "Deus Me Livre," "Tá Nervoso... Vai Pescá," and "Laço Aberto." Alexandre himself is a prolific composer, credited with over 1,500 songs recorded by various artists within the sertanejo genre, underscoring his deep contribution to the musical landscape.
