Biography

Laura Catarina is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in the 1990s. She is the daughter of the renowned singer and songwriter Vander Lee, whose musical legacy she actively honors and continues. Catarina's musical journey began at a young age, showing a passion for music from childhood. She dedicated herself to music studies, including popular singing with Babaya Morais and classical singing with Conceição Nicolau and Daiana Melo. She is also a self-taught guitarist.

Her professional career started in 2014 with solo performances of her own compositions. Between 2013 and 2015, she was the vocalist for the band Dom Pepo. In 2016, she presented a show titled "Amor de pai" as a tribute to her father, who passed away that year. Her debut album, "Amor em si," was released in 2018, featuring collaborations with several artists. More recently, in 2022, she recorded a duet with Mariene de Castro of her father's song "Do Brasil." In 2023, she released the album "Estrela – Laura Catarina canta Vander Lee," which includes a poignant opening with her father's voice and features Dani Black on the track "Romântico."

Laura Catarina is recognized for her vocal sensitivity, musical research, and fluid ability to navigate diverse musical universes. She has collaborated with various artists throughout her career, including Luiz Gabriel Lopes, Hot Appocalypse, Kdu dos Anjos, and her father, Vander Lee, with whom she performed on his last DVD.
