Biography

Lauriete Rodrigues de Jesus is a prominent Brazilian contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and former politician born in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo. She began her musical career at a very young age, releasing her debut album O Arrebatamento in 1982 when she was only twelve years old. Over the decades, she became one of the most recognizable voices in the Brazilian pentecostal gospel scene, achieving national acclaim with landmark records such as Palavras in 1999 and O Segredo é Louvar in 2001.

Throughout her career spanning over forty years, Lauriete collaborated with notable producers and artists within the Brazilian gospel community, including Jairinho Manhães and Melk Carvalhêdo. Her work frequently intersected with other leading contemporary Christian singers like Cassiane, Damares, and Elaine de Jesus, particularly when she participated in the historic DVD celebrating one hundred years of the Pentecostal movement in Brazil. In addition to her extensive musical discography filled with gold records and award nominations, she also served multiple terms as a federal deputy representing her home state of Espírito Santo.
