Biography

Lê Almeida is a Brazilian musician, composer, guitarist, drummer, and producer, born in 1984 in Rio de Janeiro. Recognized for his prolific career in the independent alternative rock and lo-fi scene, he is the founder of the Transfusão Noise Records label, created in 2004, which has been fundamental in promoting artists of the genre in Brazil. His work is marked by a "do-it-yourself" aesthetic and sound experimentation, incorporating elements of krautrock, free jazz, afrobeat, hip hop, and brazilian music, which earned him comparisons to Robert Pollard, being called the "Brazilian answer to Robert Pollard" in a report by The Guardian.

In addition to his solo career, Lê Almeida is known for his participation in various projects and bands, such as Oruã, Built to Spill, Carpete Florido, Tape Rec, The Fashion Our Club, Uma Nova Orquídea em Meu Jardim Alucinógeno, Tratamento Experimental, and Cosmo Amantes. He also works as a graphic artist, creating collages for album covers, posters, and artworks, in addition to having participated in exhibitions. His record label, Transfusão Noise Records, has released over 100 works, often featuring visual identity created by him.

His solo discography includes albums like "Paraleloplasmos" (2015), "Todas as Brisas" (2016), "Aulas" (2020), and "I Feel In The Sky" (2023). Almeida has toured Brazil, the United States, and Europe, participating in artistic residencies and collaborating with international musicians. His music is described as a "calm rock", with simple lyrics and an engaging sound that explores low-fidelity recording to create a unique aesthetic.
