Biography

Le Trio Camara was a Brazilian jazz piano trio that gained recognition in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Comprised of Fernando Martins on piano, Edson Lobo on bass, and Nelson Serra on drums, the trio recorded their self-titled debut album in Paris in 1968, which was released in 1970 on the French label Saravah. The group is celebrated for their energetic and rhythmic style of bossa nova and samba jazz, often described as having a "hard bossa" sound with a notable sense of speed and intensity.

Their music is characterized by intricate arrangements and masterful musicianship, with Martins' piano playing often highlighted for its percussive and driving quality. The trio's repertoire included original compositions as well as covers of Brazilian classics, such as Baden Powell's "Berimbau" and Dorival Caymmi's "Não Tem Solução."
