Biography

Lencinho is a Brazilian musical project that blends elements of alternative rock with 1990s pagode.

The group was formed by Vitor Brauer, known for his work with Lupe de Lupe, alongside Pedro Millecco (Trash No Star) and members of the band Tom Gangue: Bernardo Cunha, Gabriel Otero, and Fábio Baltar. Their debut studio album, "Só As Melhores," released independently in 2024, features nine tracks that fuse noisy guitars with the characteristic sound of classic pagode from the 1990s.

Lencinho's music is characterized by its satirical approach, evident in their album art and promotional materials that emulate the style of veteran pagode groups. The songs incorporate traditional samba and romantic pagode elements, such as vocal harmonies, prominent cavaquinho, and steady percussion, contrasted with a distinctive use of loud, distorted guitars. This unique combination creates a sound that has been described as both unsettling and surprisingly effective, drawing comparisons to bands like Raça Negra and Slowdive.
