Biography

Leonardo Chaves Zapalá Pimentel, artistically known as Leo Chaves, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, and writer, born in Ponte Nova, Minas Gerais, on October 4, 1976. His musical career began in 1992, alongside his brother Victor Chaves, forming the acclaimed sertaneja duo Victor & Leo. Together, they conquered Brazil with hits like "Fada", "Vida Boa", and "Amigo Apaixonado", in addition to placing songs on soap opera and film soundtracks. The duo released several albums and DVDs, accumulating important awards such as the Brazilian Music Award and the Latin Grammy, establishing themselves as one of the great names in sertaneja music.

After more than two decades of success with Victor & Leo, the duo announced a hiatus in 2018 so both could pursue individual projects. Leo Chaves then began his solo career, releasing the CD/DVD "Ao vivo em Belo Horizonte" in 2019. Alongside his musical career, Leo Chaves also stood out as a motivational speaker, addressing themes such as personal development, emotional intelligence, and reinvention. He also delved into studies of neurolinguistics, philosophy, and education, acting as CEO of EAI Educa and founder of Instituto Hortense.

Leo Chaves is the author of the best-selling books "No Colo dos Anjos" (2017) and "A Grande Arte de Se Reinventar" (2019). His trajectory demonstrates a remarkable capacity for reinvention, successfully transitioning between music, literature, agribusiness entrepreneurship, and social action. In 2019, he released the single "Sol das Seis", featuring Ludmilla, marking the beginning of his new musical phase. In 2021, he released his first solo DVD, titled "Retorno", featuring guest artists like Henrique & Juliano and Gusttavo Lima.
