Biography

Léo e Raphael are a Brazilian sertanejo duo formed in 2014 by Leonardo Mendes and Raphael Soares. Hailing from Paraná, the duo has become known for their "agronejo" style, which blends traditional sertanejo with modern influences and lyrics that celebrate rural life and the agricultural sector. Their music often features humorous and irreverent themes, resonating with a broad audience across Brazil.

Léo, born in Umuarama, Paraná, began his musical journey at age 12 with a guitar, performing in bars and university parties in Londrina. Raphael, originally from Curitiba, Paraná, started playing guitar in church at 15 and also had experience as a songwriter. The two friends, who were already songwriting partners, decided to form a duo in 2014 after realizing their artistic synergy. Their first independent release, "Bailando e Tocando Violão," in 2015, garnered attention for its authenticity.

The duo achieved national recognition in 2016 with the hit "Sai do Mato Veiaco," which became a phenomenon on social media and sertanejo radio stations. This song, along with others like "Tchau Brigado," "Os Menino da Pecuária," and "Agro é Top," solidified their place in the Brazilian music scene. They have since released several albums and EPs, including "Na Contramão do Sucesso" (2015), "Os Caipira's (Acústico)" (2020), and "Tão Prático (Ao Vivo em Londrina)" (2018). Léo e Raphael have also collaborated with other artists, further expanding their reach and influence within the sertanejo genre.
