Biography

Leonardo Jaime, popularly known as Leo Jaime, is a multifaceted Brazilian artist whose career spans music, acting, writing, and journalism. Born in Goiânia in 1960, he began his theater and music studies in childhood. His training took him through cities such as São Paulo and Brasília, where he participated in the staging of "Os Saltimbancos" by Chico Buarque. In the late 1970s, he settled in Rio de Janeiro, where he established key partnerships, including compositions with Arnaldo Baptista.

In the 1980s, Leo Jaime became a central figure in Brazilian rock. A notable milestone in his career was recommending Cazuza for the vocals of Barão Vermelho after turning down the position himself. He founded the band Nota Vermelha with Fernanda Abreu and was part of the original lineup of the rockabilly group João Penca e Seus Miquinhos Amestrados. His solo career took off with iconic albums such as "Phodas 'C'" and "Sessão da Tarde", the latter responsible for major radio hits that defined the pop-rock of that generation.

Beyond music, Leo Jaime built a solid career in acting and literature. He acted in telenovelas such as "Bebê a Bordo" and in films like "Rock Estrela". He played King John VI in theatrical and television productions and established himself as a columnist and voice actor for hit animated features. Recently, he resumed musical partnerships with Leoni and collaborated with Bruno Gouveia of Biquini Cavadão, demonstrating the longevity of his contribution to Brazilian culture.
