Biography

Emival Eterno da Costa, better known as Leonardo, is a renowned Brazilian singer and entrepreneur. Born in Goianápolis, Goiás, in 1963, he rose to fame in 1983 when he formed the sertanejo duo Leandro & Leonardo alongside his brother Luiz José Costa, known as Leandro. Together, they became one of the most successful acts in Brazilian music history, selling tens of millions of records and shaping the country's country music landscape with hits like "Entre Tapas e Beijos" and "Pense em Mim".

Following Leandro's tragic death from lung cancer in 1998, Leonardo successfully transitioned to a solo career, maintaining a massive following and releasing numerous successful albums and DVDs. He also famously teamed up with other major sertanejo acts such as Chitãozinho & Xororó and Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano for the highly popular "Amigos" television special and concert series, cementing his legacy as a pillar of Brazilian popular culture. Over decades in the spotlight, he has sold tens of millions of albums both as part of the legendary duo and as a solo artist.
