Biography

Leticia Pinheiro de Novaes, widely known by her stage name Letrux, is a prominent Brazilian singer-songwriter, actress, and writer born in Rio de Janeiro on January 5, 1982. Her artistic journey began in her adolescence with a rock band named Letícios, followed by an electronic music group called Ménage à Trois. In 2008, she formed the duo Letuce with Lucas Vasconcellos, releasing three albums and gaining recognition in the Brazilian independent music scene. The duo disbanded in 2016, paving the way for Novaes' solo career under the moniker Letrux.

In 2017, Letrux released her debut solo album, "Letrux em Noite de Climão," which garnered critical acclaim and won the Multishow Brazilian Music Award for Best Album. The album was also recognized by Rolling Stone Brasil as one of the top 10 Brazilian albums of that year. Her subsequent album, "Letrux aos Prantos" (2020), was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Rock or Alternative Album. Her most recent album, "Letrux como Mulher Girafa" (2023), was selected as one of the 50 best Brazilian albums of the year by the Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte.

Beyond her musical endeavors, Novaes is also an accomplished actress and writer. She has appeared in several films and TV series since 2010 and published a collection of poems titled "Zaralha: Abri a Minha Pasta" in 2015. Her literary work often explores themes of personal experience, identity, and social issues, reflecting her engagement with feminism and human rights. She has also published other books, including "Tudo que já nadei" (2021) and "Brincadeiras à parte" (2025). Letrux's music often incorporates elements of electronic music, indie pop, and alternative rock, characterized by her distinctive lyrical style and vocal delivery.
