Biography

Letuce was a Brazilian musical duo formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2008 by singer-songwriter Letícia Novaes and musician Lucas Vasconcellos. The duo emerged after the two met through mutual friends in late 2007, quickly beginning both a romantic relationship and a collaborative musical project derived from Novaes's Fotolog nickname. Their distinct sound blended elements of MPB, indie rock, lounge music, and pop.

Throughout their career, Letuce released three studio albums through Bolacha Discos. They debuted in 2009 with "Plano de Fuga pra Cima dos Outros e de Mim," followed by their second album, "Manja Perene," in 2012. Despite ending their romantic relationship in 2013, the duo continued to make music together, ultimately releasing their third and final album, "Estilhaça," in 2015 before officially disbanding in late 2016.

During their active years, Letuce participated in prominent media and cultural projects such as Oi Novo Som, Música de Bolso, and Som Brasil. Their artistic trajectory shares aesthetic and cultural affinities with contemporary Brazilian independent artists like Mallu Magalhães and Céu, leaving a notable mark on the independent alternative scene of Rio de Janeiro.
