Biography

Lia Sophia Ferreira de Oliveira is a French-Brazilian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Born in Cayenne, French Guiana, she grew up in Macapá, Amapá, before eventually moving to Belém, Pará, where she began performing in local nightclubs. Immersed in music from a young age due to her musical family, she developed a distinctive tropical sound that blends Amazonian rhythms like carimbó and guitarrada with international beats such as zouk.

Her career took off with the release of her debut album, Livre, in 2005, followed by subsequent projects including Castelo de Luz, Amor Amor, and a self-titled 2014 album. She achieved widespread national recognition when her song "Ai Menina" was featured on the soundtrack of the Rede Globo telenovela Amor Eterno Amor. Her tracks have also been included in other television productions, earning praise from cultural figures such as Nelson Motta and establishing her as a prominent voice in contemporary Brazilian music alongside artists like Fafá de Belém and Nilson Chaves.

Over the years, Lia Sophia has expanded her reach internationally, representing Brazilian music at events such as the Caribbean Festival of Arts in Suriname and the Brasil SummerFest in New York. She has performed at major cultural venues across Brazil, including the Auditório Ibirapuera and Teatro Amazonas. In addition to her musical contributions, she continues to innovate within regional genres, releasing projects such as Eletrocarimbó.
