Biography

Liah Soares, artistic name of Eliane Soares da Silva, was born in Marabá, Pará, on January 18, 1980. Since childhood, she showed a great interest in musical instruments, participating in her first music festival at the age of twelve. At fourteen, she left her family home in São Domingos do Araguaia to pursue the dream of making a living from music, spending time in Santa Catarina before settling alone in São Paulo. Her skill as a songwriter soon caught the industry's attention, writing songs recorded by prominent names such as television host Angélica, KLB, and Wanessa Camargo, in addition to achieving enormous notoriety when Sandy & Junior recorded compositions written by her.

In 2003, the singer signed a contract with EMI records and released her self-titled debut album, driven by the success of singles like "Poesia e Paixão", which reached number one on Brazilian radio stations and secured a double platinum record. The following year, she released her second album, Perdas e Ganhos, consolidating her presence on the charts and in television soundtracks. After breaking with the label in 2006 due to artistic disagreements regarding her image linked to pop rock, Liah signed with Som Livre in 2007, drawing inspiration from more organic sounds and releasing the album Livre in 2009, followed by the record Quatro Cantos in 2012, the same year she also joined the cast of the first season of the show The Voice Brasil. Throughout her career, Liah Soares has remained active as one of the great songwriters and interpreters of the national scene, collaborating with artists such as Roberto Carlos and Banda Catedral.
