Biography

The band Limão com Mel was founded in 1993 in the city of Salgueiro, Pernambuco, at the initiative of radio broadcaster and businessman Ailton Souza, who initially led a dance band called Talismã. With the commercial rise of electronic forró in the Northeast, the project was transformed into a forró group, quickly consolidating itself in the Brazilian music scene and reaching the milestone of millions of records sold throughout its trajectory.

In its trajectory of over three decades, the group has gone through several line-ups and released dozens of successful albums, with Edson Lima and Angela Espíndola as its first lead vocalists. Important names such as Batista Lima, Simara Pires, Diego Rafael, and Adma Andrade have been part of the vocals at different times, with Edson Lima returning to the group years after leaving to found Gatinha Manhosa.

The band's discography includes striking romantic forró hits such as "Anjo Querubim", "De Janeiro a Janeiro", and "Frente a Frente", which helped project the group on a national level.
