Biography

O Los Sebosos Postizos is a Brazilian musical project founded in 1998 in the city of Recife, created by members of the renowned Pernambucan band Nação Zumbi shortly after the passing of Chico Science. The initiative initially emerged as an unassuming tribute to singer-songwriter Jorge Ben Jor at a local party called "A Noite do Ben", maintaining the original structures of the songs while absorbing prominent rhythmic elements of Pernambucan culture.

Over the years, the group alternated between sporadic performances and the consolidation of their repertoire until releasing their first studio album in 2012, titled "Los Sebosos Postizos interpretam Jorge Ben Jor", produced by Mario Caldato Jr. The project gained even more momentum starting in 2019 with tours dedicated to deconstructing Bob Marley's reggae classics, in addition to celebrating the entirety of the iconic album "A Tábua de Esmeralda" on Brazilian stages in the 2020s.

The band's lineup brings together experienced musicians from the national scene and features vocalist Jorge dü Peixe at the helm of the interpretations, accompanied by names such as Dengue and Gustavo da Lua, as well as stints by instrumentalists like Lúcio Maia and Pupillo. Through creative and psychedelia-filled reinterpretations, the group moves with personality between samba rock and alternative rock, engaging in dialogue with the rich tapestry of Brazilian music.
