Biography

Lu Andrade, born Luciana de Andrade in Varginha, Minas Gerais, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and former member of the country's most successful girl group, Rouge. Growing up with a passion for music, she participated in church choirs and local pop rock bands before rising to national prominence in 2002 by winning the talent show Popstars. As part of Rouge, she recorded major hit albums and contributed to massive commercial success before leaving the group in 2004 due to exhaustion and creative differences, briefly returning for special reunion projects in subsequent years.

Following her departure from Rouge, she pursued various musical collaborations, working with notable Brazilian artists such as Negra Li, Nasi, Sérgio Britto, and the folk band Tuatha de Danann, as well as branching out into theater and television. Over the years, she maintained a dynamic career by releasing independent solo material, including her debut solo album Adrenalina and various EPs, while also working as a vocal coach. Her musical style ranges from pop rock to soft rock, drawing early inspiration from Brazilian icons like Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, and Lô Borges.

In later years, Lu Andrade transitioned away from the entertainment industry to focus on vibrational therapy, expressing a desire to step back from her music career permanently. Despite shifting her professional focus to vibrational medicine, her legacy remains firmly tied to the history of Brazilian pop music.
