A voice with power, emotion, and truth defines Lu Oliveira, a singer and songwriter born on August 12, 1980, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, Oliveira's sound is characterized by a sophisticated timbre, imbued with soul and a distinct Brazilian and Portuguese flair that makes her performances a true celebration. Her musical journey began in earnest in 2011 when she decided to dedicate herself fully to music, transitioning from a career in advertising.

Oliveira released her independent debut album, "Sou Eu," in 2013, which garnered praise from notable figures like Roberto Menescal. The album featured production by Zé Renato and arrangements from esteemed Brazilian musicians such as Cristovão Bastos, Jaques Morelenbaum, Arthur Verocai, João Carlos Coutinho, and Leandro Braga. This initial success paved the way for subsequent releases, including "Cartas Africanas" (2017), "No Voo do Urubu" (2017) where she was a guest singer, "Na Lira da Canção" (2019) a tribute to Socorro Lira, and her first authorial EP, "Canto do Atlântico" (2019).

"Canto do Atlântico" is a significant work, a Brazil-Portugal co-production inspired by Oliveira's connection to Portuguese music, blending sounds from Brazil, Portugal, Angola, and Cape Verde. In late 2022, she released the authorial single "Me Deixa Voar," produced by Luiz Otavio, which showcases her vibrant and energetic style. Celebrating a decade in music in 2023, Lu Oliveira continues to explore the rich diversity of Brazilian rhythms, particularly MPB, samba, and bossa nova, solidifying her position as a promising voice in contemporary Brazilian popular music.
