Biography

Lucas & Luan is a sertanejo musical duo formed by the brothers José Lucas de Ângelo and Josué de Ângelo. Born in Guará, São Paulo, the duo began their musical career in their teens, facing hardships due to their humble origins and even working as migrant farmworkers in the sugarcane fields of Sertãozinho.

Initially, in the 1980s, they performed under the name "Celestino e Gardel", recording two LPs. In the early 1990s, they adopted the name "Lucas e Luan" and released their first album in 1990. The duo achieved national recognition in 1996 with the hit "Horizonte Azul", which became one of the most played songs of the year. From then on, they established themselves in the sertanejo scene, performing concerts all over Brazil.

In addition to their own compositions, Lucas & Luan are known for having their hits re-recorded by big names in sertanejo music, such as "Horizonte Azul" by Leandro & Leonardo and "Mexe que é Bom" by Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano. Throughout their career, they have released several albums and DVDs, and remain active in the music scene, currently residing in São Simão, São Paulo.
