Biography

Lucas Werneck de Vasconcellos was born in Petrópolis on May 18, 1979. He is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer who began his prominent journey in the 2000s by founding the band Binario in Rio de Janeiro. The collective blended rock, electronic music, and audiovisual interventions, releasing four albums through the British label Farout Recordings and two through the Brazilian record label Bolacha Discos until ending its activities in 2009.

In 2008, the artist created the duo Letuce alongside singer Letícia Novaes, known artistically as Letrux, which blended MPB and indie rock. The partnership yielded three studio albums and lasted until 2016, the year the group ended its run. Alongside his group projects, Lucas developed a solid solo career, releasing works such as the albums Falo de Coração, Adotar Cachorros, Silenciosamente, and Teoria da Terra Plena.

In addition to his work in original music, Vasconcellos composes soundtracks for film and television. In 2011, he won the award for Best Original Soundtrack at the Gramado Film Festival for the movie Riscado, directed by Gustavo Pizzi. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with several renowned names in Brazilian music, such as Dado Villa-Lobos, Rodrigo Amarante, Lucas Santtana, Marcelo Jeneci, Tiê, and Alice Caymmi.
