Biography

Luciano Bahia is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and keyboardist who began his musical journey in the early 1980s. Early in his career, he performed in the opening acts for notable Brazilian artists such as Jorge Mautner and the band A Barca do Sol. He later formed the band Matinê alongside musicians like Sérgio Serra, releasing early independent work before embarking on a successful solo career in the pop and dance music scenes.

Throughout the 1980s and subsequent decades, Luciano achieved significant chart success with hits like "Carol" and albums such as "Amor Reacionário". His work frequently intersected with prominent figures of Brazilian music and production, including Mayrton Bahia and Michael Sullivan. Beyond his solo ventures, he founded the pioneering dance cover band Slidancing, collaborating with various artists including Cláudio Zoli, Ivo Meirelles, and Arnaldo Brandão, continuing to innovate within Brazilian dance and pop music.

In later years, Luciano expanded his repertoire by releasing albums like "Nossa Cidade" and "Vento Lunar", collaborating with legendary MPB composers such as Carlos Colla, Tibério Gaspar, and Luiz Galvão. His dedication to songwriting and performance cemented his versatile status in the Brazilian music landscape, blending electronic elements, pop sensibilities, and traditional Brazilian influences.
