Biography

Luciano Maia is an acclaimed Brazilian accordionist, born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, in 1980. His musical career took off with the release of his first CD, "Sonho Novo", in 1998, marking the beginning of a journey filled with innovation and virtuosity on the instrument.

Known for his versatility, Maia skillfully moves between regional music from Rio Grande do Sul and jazz, exploring the infinite sound possibilities of the accordion. His technical skill and musical sensitivity have led him to participate in more than 80 albums, including solo works, partnerships, and special guest appearances, establishing him as one of the most important names in the new generation of Brazilian musicians.

In addition to his solo career, Luciano Maia is also recognized for his work with the group Quartchêto, which blends accordion, drums, trombone, and acoustic guitar, performing at major festivals across the country. His music, inspired by masters like Dominguinhos and Albino Manique, is a tribute to the rich musical tradition of Rio Grande do Sul, while also pointing toward new directions and sound experimentations.
