Biography

Luedji Luna is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Salvador, Bahia. Raised in a politically active family with roots deeply connected to the Black movement, she began composing at age seventeen and briefly studied law before devoting herself entirely to music. Her artistic expression reflects themes of racial prejudice, feminism, and Afro-Brazilian culture, blending traditional rhythms with contemporary genres such as R&B and jazz. Throughout her career, she has drawn inspiration from legendary Brazilian icons like Luiz Melodia, Milton Nascimento, and Djavan.

Her debut album, "Um Corpo no Mundo," was released in 2017 to critical acclaim, eventually leading to international touring across Europe and Japan. Following this success, she released her second album, "Bom Mesmo É Estar Debaixo D'Água," which earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best MPB Album in 2021. Continuing her prolific trajectory, Luedji released subsequent projects that further cemented her status in contemporary Brazilian music, winning the Latin Grammy for Best MPB Album in 2025 with her record "Um Mar Pra Cada Um."
