Biography

Born in São Paulo, Luísa Maita grew up in an environment immersed in music due to the influence of her father, musician and composer Amado Maita, and her mother, cultural producer Myriam Taubkin. Since childhood, she has lived alongside great names in Brazilian music such as Paulinho da Viola, Lenine, and Naná Vasconcelos, developing a strong connection with samba jazz and MPB. Before launching her solo career, she stood out as a songwriter with works recorded by artists such as Virgínia Rosa and Mariana Aydar, in addition to collaborating with Rodrigo Campos.

In 2010, she released her acclaimed debut album, "Lero-Lero", which blended the foundations of samba and bossa nova with influences from pop and electronic music. The work achieved great international and national repercussion, causing the foreign press to dub her the "New Voice of Brazil" after tours in the United States and Canada. The record was featured on the main best-of-the-year lists of publications such as Rolling Stone magazine and Veja newspaper, consolidating her name in the contemporary scene.

The following year, in 2011, Luísa was awarded Revelation Artist of the Year at the Brazilian Music Award, celebrating a period of strong international expansion that included performances at important festivals in Europe and North America. Later, she continued her discography with the release of the album "Fio da Memória" in 2016. Her artistic trajectory remains marked by sophistication and the dialogue between traditional acoustic Brazilian music and modern urban sounds.
