Biography

Luiz Gabriel Lopes, artistically known as LUIZGA, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in the countryside of Minas Gerais. His musical career spans approximately two decades, during which he has produced and released music in various formats, both as a solo artist and with different groups and projects. Lopes is a multifaceted artist whose musical journey is rich and diverse, having developed an early talent for the guitar at 9 years of age.

He is one of the founding members and creators of important bands in the Brazilian music scene, such as Graveola e o Lixo Polifônico, Tião Duá, and Rosa Neon. With Graveola, he performed on major European stages like the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and FMM Sines in Portugal. His career has led him to perform in more than 20 countries and collaborate with a wide range of renowned Brazilian music artists, including Chico César, Marina Sena, Vitor Ramil, Djonga, Samuel Rosa, Ceumar, Xangai, Ana Cañas, and Zé Manoel.

In addition to his prolific musical career, Luiz Gabriel Lopes also stands out for his engagement with indigenous culture, developing projects such as the album "NI HUI" in partnership with the Huni Kuin community, and giving workshops on musical creation and studio production for indigenous youth in Acre. His music explores the intersection of sounds from Portuguese-speaking countries and Latin American identity, moving through references from Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, and Portugal, building an original repertoire that combines different accents and rhythms. Lopes has released more than 20 albums, including solo works and collaborations.
