Biography

Luiz Antônio Schiavon Pereira was born in São Paulo on October 5, 1958, and built a remarkable trajectory as a composer and instrumentalist in Brazilian music. A graduate of the Mário de Andrade Conservatory, he began his journey in music playing in a Deep Purple cover band before forming partnerships fundamental to Brazilian rock, standing out as a founding member and the main arranger of the group RPM alongside Paulo Ricardo.

In addition to the enormous commercial success with RPM in the 1980s, Schiavon became known for pioneering technological innovations, being the first musician in the country to integrate computers and state-of-the-art synthesizers directly onto Brazilian stages. His versatility led him to compose memorable soundtracks for major Rede Globo telenovelas, such as O Rei do Gado, Terra Nostra, and Esperança, in addition to leading the house band of the Domingão do Faustão TV show for several years.

Throughout his career, he also joined projects like LS&D alongside Fernando Deluqui and participated in various reunions and tours with RPM. Luiz Schiavon passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 64, in Osasco, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of rock and instrumental music in Brazil.
