Biography

Luíza & Maurílio was a prominent Brazilian sertaneja duo formed in the city of Imperatriz in 2016 by vocalists Luiza Martins and Maurílio Delmont. The musical partnership began after an impromptu karaoke performance of a Marília Mendonça song went viral regionally, prompting the musicians to officially launch their career together. Their breakthrough came with albums like Segunda Dose and smash hits such as "S de Saudade," cementing their place in the contemporary country music scene.

The duo achieved widespread national prominence and commercial success, collaborating with major artists like Zé Neto & Cristiano, Alcione, and Dilsinho. Their signature sound blended modern sertanejo sensibilities with powerful vocal harmony and acoustic instrumentation. Tragically, the duo's career was cut short in late 2021 following the sudden illness and passing of Maurílio Delmont.

Following the conclusion of the duo, Luiza Martins embarked on a solo career, honoring her late partner's memory with posthumous releases and dedicated musical projects. The duo remains celebrated for their significant contribution to the sertanejo universitario movement. Their enduring legacy continues to resonate within Brazilian popular music through their extensive catalog and heartfelt performances.
