Biography

Luiz Maurício Pragana dos Santos, better known as Lulu Santos, was born in Rio de Janeiro and began his musical journey in adolescence, joining groups such as Veludo Elétrico and the band Vímana, where he played alongside names like Lobão and Ritchie. After pursuing a solo career in the early 1980s, he established himself as one of the leading names in national pop music and rock, scoring memorable hits like "Tempos Modernos", "O Último Romântico", and "Toda Forma de Amor". Over the years, the artist demonstrated great versatility by moving through different musical styles, incorporating elements of electronic music, dance music, funk, soul, and samba into his discography, in addition to working as a producer and television judge.

His contribution to Brazilian culture earned him important recognitions, including mentions in Rolling Stone Brasil magazine lists as one of the greatest national artists and one of the great icons of the guitar and acoustic guitar. Lulu Santos's career is also marked by successful partnerships with renowned producers and musicians, such as DJ Memê, as well as tributes to icons of MPB and national rock, such as Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos, and Rita Lee. With dozens of albums released and large-scale tours across the country, he has consolidated a lasting legacy that has influenced generations of musicians and remains present in the Brazilian popular imagination.
