Lumiar is the name of a district in the municipality of Nova Friburgo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, which inspired the famous homonymous song by Beto Guedes and Ronaldo Bastos, released in 1977. The song, featured on the album "A Página do Relâmpago Elétrico", became a milestone in MPB and projected the location as a tourist destination, evoking an atmosphere of peace, simplicity, and connection with nature.

The song "Lumiar" describes an idealized refuge, a place where one can enjoy the little things in life, such as sharing meals, telling stories, and appreciating time without rush. This idealization reflects the spirit of the Clube da Esquina movement, of which Beto Guedes was a part, and its quest for a musical aesthetic that blended Minas Gerais influences, MPB, and rock.
