Biography

O Luni is a Brazilian musical group formed in São Paulo in 1986, bringing together artists from various fields such as theater, literature, visual arts, and music. The original lineup featured prominent names like Marisa Orth, Natália Barros, Théo Wernek, André Gordon, Fernando Figueiredo, Kuki Stolarky, Lelena Anhaia, and the French duo Gilles Eduar and Lloyd Bonnemaison. The ensemble debuted at the legendary Madame Satã and quickly gained national notoriety for their daring style, multimedia shows, and provocative performances.

A contemporary of bands like Os Mulheres Negras and Nouvelle Cuisine, the group released their sole self-titled album in 1988, which landed notable hits like "The Best", "Taxi", and "Johnny". The band's visibility reached its national peak when they performed "Rap do Rei", the opening theme for the soap opera Que Rei Sou Eu?, although the group dissolved in 1992. Over the years, the ensemble made occasional returns for commemorative tours and special reunions, keeping the memory of their trajectory in Brazilian music alive.
