Biography

Lydio Roberto Silva, known professionally as Lydio Roberto, is a Brazilian musician, composer, music producer, and music therapist born in Curitiba, Paraná, on November 12, 1961. He began his musical journey in his adolescence, receiving his first musical notions at Colégio do Paraná. In 1978, he formed the group Alla Breve, with whom he performed in various presentations and festivals. Roberto's professional career took off in 1983, and his work as a composer was first recorded by the vocal group Nymphas, for whom he also arranged music.

His debut album, "Choro de águas," was released in 1985, the same year he participated in the Projeto Pixinguinha alongside renowned artists like Elizeth Cardoso and Sivuca. The following year, he embarked on a national tour with Maurício Carrilho and Leny Andrade. Roberto's international presence grew with a tour in Portugal in 1987. His discography expanded with the release of "Estrelas guia" in 1999, featuring collaborations with O Tao do Trio and Nymphas. He has also contributed to advertising through jingles and soundtracks.

Roberto's musical style is characterized by its regionalist tone, evident in albums like "Alma Brejeira," often featuring an acoustic sound with aesthetic care. He explores themes related to folklore, Brazilian culture, and children's music, being part of the Movimento Brasileiro da Canção Infantil.
